Two artists exhibit on the Île d’Yeu until August 14

An exhibition of paintings and sculptures is on view at the Maison des Quais.

Two artists—Jacques Rohaut, official painter of the French Navy, and Marine de Soos, a contemporary artist who creates bronze sculptures—have been exhibiting since August 4 and until August 14 at the Maison des Quais.

  • Jacques Rohaut enjoys the privilege of a signature followed by a naval anchor. A member of the Académie de Marine, he regularly exhibits in Paris and throughout the regions. Many of his paintings created on the Île d’Yeu over the past 30 years appear in the book Un peintre de la Marine à l’île d’Yeu, published by Locus Solus. He will be presenting around forty canvases.
  • Marine de Soos is based in Paris. She creates bronze sculptures charged with emotion.

“I draw my inspiration from the memories I keep from my travels. My works have been exhibited in prestigious venues such as the Ernest Cognacq Museum on the Île de Ré, the Château de Villandry, PAD in Paris, BRAFA in Brussels…” Du soleil dans la tête, Voile d’Enfance, Le jardin des méditations, La muse… more than forty works will also be exhibited.

Jacques Rohaut and Marine de Soos have been traveling to the Île d’Yeu for several decades.

Exhibition — Maison des Quais, 11 rue des Quais, Port-Joinville, Île d’Yeu.
