Le Bon Marché

February 2013

Marine de Soos Exhibition

From February 7 to 27, sculptor Marine de Soos exhibits her works inspired by women of Africa and Indonesia, true figures of wisdom, within the Primo Piano restaurant at Le Bon Marché.

The artist…
Born in Paris in 1967, Marine de Soos spent part of her childhood on the African continent, forging inescapable ties with an extraordinary culture. Upon returning to the French capital, she began a career in the field of marketing. In 1991, she decided to give priority to her art and thereafter devoted herself exclusively to sculpture. Since then, the artist has exhibited her works in France and abroad and has won over collectors.

…and her art
Through her bronzes, Marine de Soos evokes the fragile impassibility of traditional African and Indonesian civilizations. With history and geography as her favored themes, she draws inspiration from majestic figures, highlighting the beauty and authenticity of ancestral gestures of women with queenly bearing. From her works emerges a message of joy and peace, like a nostalgic poetry rich in meaning.
An exhibition to be discovered within the Primo Piano restaurant,

L’Appartement de Mode, 1st floor of Le Bon Marché Rive Gauche — entrance via La Grande Épicerie de Paris, at the corner of rue du Bac / rue de Sèvres.
