NEUILLY-SUR-SEINE: UNDER THE SPELL OF CREATIVITY

On June 24, a preview evening for Marine de Soos and Jean-François Viguier was held at the offices of BARNES in Neuilly-sur-Seine. For two months, BARNES’s Neuilly offices hosted the sculptures and paintings of these two artists.

A sculptor who spent part of her childhood on the African continent, Marine de Soos evokes in her works the impassibility of traditional civilizations, drawing on the sources of geography and history. Her works refer to distant emotions rich in symbolism and majesty. The sensitivity and extreme finesse of her creations deeply moved viewers.

The authenticity of Jean-François Viguier’s canvases—who was honored with numerous awards in 2011—won over BARNES’s clients and partners. A practitioner of acrylics, Indian ink, and even oil paint, this artist, who likely draws inspiration from the humorous drawing he once practiced as an amateur, pursues a goal with his unpredictable paintings—rich in forms and colors and imbued with freedom: artisanal aestheticism.
